WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY) — Southeastern Community College announced a multi-year partnership with Black’s Tire Service, Inc.

This will support the college’s mission, students, and programs through the Southeastern Community College Foundation.

In recognition of this investment, Black’s Tire Service will receive naming rights to the front entrance area of the Automative Technology Building as well as logo placement inside the building.

“This commitment is about more than a building or a name,” said Joe Hooks, Chair of the Southeastern Community College Board of Trustees. “It reflects a shared belief in our students, confidence in workforce education, and a long-term commitment to the future of our community.”

SCC says this comes at a pivotal moment as construction is underway on a new $22 million, 21,100-square-foot Transportation Technology/STEM Building for Automative Systems Technology, Diesel Training, and Truck Driver Training programs. This expansion will feature modern classrooms, climate-controlled lab space, a CDL lab, automotive and diesel training areas, a Dyno lab, and space to support emerging technologies.

As part of the partnership, Black’s Tire Service will utilize SCC’s automotive and diesel programs for technical education and training for current employees and new hires.
