Celebration held for official launch of the Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — There was a standup crowd for the official launch of the Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce Tuesday night.
The event was held at the Wilmington Sportsman Club on Castle Street.
The Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce marks a significant milestone in their mission to drive economic empowerment for minority-owned businesses in the Cape Fear.
Executive director Atiba Johnson says the goal is to give these business owners the support they need to grow the platform to advocate for their interest and how to stay competitive in an evolving market.
“It’s diverse, got a great ecosystem. We got contractors, caterers, and restaurants. We have a little bit of everything and still going. One of our goals is trying to level the playing field man. We’re here to educate, advocate, and promote minority owned businesses,” Johnson said.
The Wilmington Minority Chamber of Commerce is dedicated to supporting minority owned businesses through four pillars: grow, network, educate and advocate.
