Man charged with murder after woman dies in Bladen County

CLARKTON, NC (WWAY) — A 36-year-old Bladenboro man is facing a murder charge after a woman died from her injuries following a reported disturbance in Bladen County.
According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to a disturbance reported around 10:30 p.m. Wednesday in the 1600 block of Tina’s Lane in Clarkton.
While deputies were en route, they were notified that the victim, Alisha Monique Jones, was being transported to Bladen County Hospital. Deputies arrived at the hospital and found Jones had died from her injuries.
Investigators detained Thomas Latrevis Howell pending the investigation. As a result of that investigation, Howell was charged with murder.
Authorities say Howell is being held at the Bladen County Detention Center without bond. The investigation remains ongoing, and no additional information is being released at this time.
The sheriff’s office said Howell and Jones were known to be in a relationship.
