The hearing for a top Columbus County School official gets postponed to a later date

WHITEVILLE, NC (WWAY)–Columbus County School Assistant Superintendent, Robert Adam Thompson, was recently issued a citation by North Carolina Wildlife for allegedly baiting ducks in a body of water near Tabor city on January 3rd.

Wildlife Officer Stephan Hawrysch was in the courtroom on Thursday and says baiting ducks with corn to hunt them is a more serious offense than most people think.

“The charge is class 2 misdemeanor. I am not going to say it’s going to be the same, but it’s a similar class to a DWI,” said Hawrysch. “Baiting ducks allows an unfair advantage to the hunter”.

Thompson’s hearing is rescheduled for March 30th.
