Man arrested after allegedly stealing copper wire from chicken farms

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A man was arrested following reports of stolen copper wire from chicken farms.

Bladen County Sheriff’s Office said they began investigating after receiving multiple reports from several local chicken farms of stolen copper.

Through video surveillance 37-year-old David Parks of Elizabethtown was identified as a suspect.

Parks was also identified at multiple scrap metal recycling centers scrapping copper wire during the investigation.

According to the Bladen County Sheriff’s Office, Parks has several prior charges for stealing copper wire.

Parks was arrested and charged with breaking and entering, larceny after breaking and entering, injury to real property.

Parks was transported to Bladen County Detention Center and given no bond.
