New Hanover takes down Laney 68-64 in OT

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — A battle of fierce rivals needed more than 32 minutes, but it was the New Hanover boys who picked up a 68-64 home win against Laney in overtime.

While trying to inbound down one with 1.8 seconds left, the Wildcats’ Kellum Brown was fouled during the dead ball and hit one free throw to force the extra frame.

The nail biter comes just a day after New Hanover knocked off West Brunswick by an even slimmer margin of 39-37.
