ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Elizabethtown has been awarded a $2.25 million federal grant to support improvements at the Curtis L. Brown Jr. Airport.

Town officials announced the funding in a press release, saying the grant was included in H.R. 7148, which was signed into law by President Donald Trump on February 3.

Leaders say the award will help upgrade the airport and position the community for increased visitation, travel and tourism.

Town officials also thanked U.S. Congressman David Rouzer for his support of the project, along with Electus Governmental Affairs for assisting with legislative requests.
