25th annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade set to return to downtown Wilmington

WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — The Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade Committee announces the 25th Downtown Wilmington St. Patrick’s Day Parade steps off at Front and Brunswick Streets at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 14th in historic downtown Wilmington.
The Parade route will go down Front Street to Dock Street, and ends at Dock and 2nd Streets.
Since inception, the Parade has grown significantly in size with the number of participants and spectators, becoming the largest community-based parade in southeast North Carolina which honors and celebrates Irish and Irish-American culture. The Parade lineup typically features an array of community and civic groups, music, dance, and cultural groups. As well as this, there will be local government officials, first responder, and veterans’ groups, The Parade has previously been described as one of the Top 10 St. Patrick’s Day Parades in small cities in America.
On February 28th, the 9th Annual Cape Fear Hooley, with live traditional Celtic music and dancers, will be held at Waterline Brewing in Wilmington.
The Hooley serves as a fundraiser for the Parade expenses.
