WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard announced on Friday that chairman of the board Roxann Lansdowne received the North Carolina Attorney General’s Dogwood Award.

The award is presented to people who improve the health, safety, and well-being of their communities.

For more than 35 years, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard has provided emergency food assistance to individuals and families in New Hanover, Brunswick, and Pender counties.

In 2025, the Cupboard provided food to more than 76,000 people in the region.

“This recognition belongs to all of us — our volunteers, donors, and community partners who make this work possible,” said Lansdowne. “Our work happening here in Wilmington shows what a community can accomplish when people come together to help their neighbors.”
