Happening this Weekend: Grab Girl Scout Cookies locally or online with free shipping
SOUTHEASTERN, NC (WWAY) — Girl Scouts across central and eastern North Carolina will participate in National Girl Scout Cookie Weekend from February 20-22, promoting cookie sales both in person and online.
The event highlights the Girl Scout Cookie Program, which organizers say helps girls develop business and leadership skills while funding programs such as summer camp, STEM activities, and community service projects. This year’s cookie lineup includes Exploremores, a rocky road-inspired sandwich cookie.
Customers can order cookies online with free shipping on orders of six to twelve packages through the Digital Cookie platform. In-person sales will also be available at local booths and select partner locations, including Wendy’s, Walmart, Sam’s Club, and Goodwill.
Proceeds from cookie sales remain local, supporting council- and troop-level programs and initiatives. Local Girl Scouts have used proceeds for events including the Wayne County “Girl Scouting for the Cure: Think Pink Event,” which offered participants information on breast cancer awareness and featured a survivor’s story.
Organizers say the cookie program provides opportunities for Girl Scouts to practice entrepreneurship, build confidence, and engage in community service. Customers can locate booths through the Girl Scout Cookie Finder or contact local troops directly.
