New Wilmington theatre group to perform their first show on Friday.

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Emilia Torello opened the theatrical teaching studio “PTPT” in December. Torello, who has been in shows like “Outer Banks”, says the original idea of the studio came from her fiancé, actor Paul Teal, who died in 2024 after battling pancreatic cancer.

Together, they wanted to teach theatre arts to everybody no matter what age or experience. Torello is leading rehearsal for its first production, called “Miscast Cabaret”.

It’s a musical about a group of characters miscast in a show that includes iconic songs from Broadway hits like Chicago, Les Misérables, and Fiddler on the Roof.

“What you will see at the show, isn’t just a traditional performance. It’s going to be these performers exploring and implementing a side of themselves the community hasn’t seen before,” said Torello.

Tickets are still available as the show will perform from March 6th to March 8th.
