Brunswick County man killed in 3-car crash on Highway 87

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Brunswick County man was killed in a three-vehicle crash Saturday afternoon on Highway 87.

According to the North Carolina State Highway Patrol, just before 2:30 pm, a car driving north on Highway 87 towards Leland stopped to make a left turn onto Danford Road when another vehicle hit them from behind.

The first car was pushed into the southbound lane, where a third vehicle then hit it.

The SHP has identified the victim as Edward Tierney III.

The driver accused of causing the crash, Bruce Moore Jr, has been charged with misdemeanor death by vehicle, and the State Highway Patrol says no impairment is suspected in the crash.
