Man arrested in Columbus County drug investigation
CLARENDON, NC (WWAY) — A man was arrested in Columbus County on drug and gun charges.
The Columbus County Sheriff’s Office Vice Narcotics Unit responded to the Clarendon area on March 21 after receiving increased citizen complaints about suspected drug activity and related crimes.
During the operation, deputies stopped a vehicle and identified the driver as Kenneth Allen Harley. Investigators say they found illegal narcotics and a concealed firearm during the stop.
Harley is charged with felony possession of cocaine, possession of drug paraphernalia, carrying a concealed gun and resisting a public officer.
He was transported to the Columbus County Detention Center and given a $5,000 secured bond.
The sheriff’s office says it encourages residents to report suspicious activity.
