ROCKY POINT, NC (WWAY) — Pender County Schools will host a district-wide career fair on Tuesday, March 31, from 4:30 to 7 p.m. at Heide Trask High School.

The event is open to both classified and certified staff candidates, offering attendees the chance to meet hiring teams, explore job openings, and learn more about joining the district. Representatives from all 19 schools will be on site, along with district leadership, including the superintendent and assistant superintendent during the first hour.

Available positions span a wide range of roles, including teachers, instructional assistants, bus drivers, tutors, nurses, mechanics, administrative staff, maintenance workers, office personnel, and athletic coaches. On-site interviews will also be conducted.

The fair will feature representatives from partner institutions such as University of North Carolina Wilmington, East Carolina University, Cape Fear Community College, and University of North Carolina at Pembroke to discuss pathways to administration and teacher certification. A licensure specialist will also be available to answer questions.

Additional vendors and partners–including substitute teaching services, food service providers, and janitorial services–will be present, along with concessions and a local coffee cart.

School officials encourage anyone interested in a career in education or support services to attend and connect with staff from across the district.
