What’s happening across the cape fear this weekend

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — The 79th annual Azalea Festival is officially here and the Cape Fear region is gonna be full of fun activities for you and the whole family.
Here’s a list of events happening in our beautiful blooming city.
Starting Friday and running through Sunday, the Cape Fear Garden Club will be hosting the Azalea Garden Tour.
The Garden Tour ribbon-cutting ceremony Friday morning kicks off the tour of 10 private gardens which are open from10 a.m. until 5p.m.
Airlie Gardens is also a stop on the tour and will be open Saturday and Sunday.
Tickets are 35 dollars each.
The street fair will also start Friday and go through Sunday, where festival attendees can head downtown to enjoy food vendors, arts and crafts, and live entertainment.
The Azalea Festival parade starts at 9:30 Saturday morning and is free to attend.
WWAY’s very own Matt Bennett and Jessica Keisling will emcee the event…and Jason Korver, Lee Haywood, Kamy Smelser, and Jeff Rivenbark will ride in the parade on a float.
And finally, from Saturday to Sunday, Warbirds Over Wilmington will take center stage at Wilmington International Airport.
The event will feature WWII-era aircraft demonstrations and viewings. The event is free and open to the public.
From street fairs and garden parties to historic demonstrations, Wilmington will be full of fun events this weekend, so don’t forget to throw on your best florals and hit the town while the azaleas are at their peak bloom.
