LELAND, N.C. (WWAY)– Multiple agencies responded to a brush fire that endangered several homes on Saturday evening.

On Saturday, April 18, 2026, around 1:15 p.m., crews from Winnabow Fire responded to a brush fire in Leland that was threatening several homes. They assisted Leland Fire Department and the North Carolina Forest Service as part of a mutual aid response.

As of publication, WWAY has reached out for more information on the fire’s exact location and whether any property was damaged.
