WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — UNCW will host the America250 Veterans Jamboree this Saturday to honor generations of veterans and commemorate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

The event is scheduled for April 25 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Veterans Hall Quad on UNCW’s campus at 1040 Walton Drive.

The jamboree is hosted by the UNCW Office of Military Affairs in partnership with the World War II Wilmington Home Front Heritage Coalition.

Organizers say the event is meant to recognize veterans who have served throughout the nation’s history while also reflecting UNCW’s commitment to military-affiliated students, families and the broader veteran community.

The celebration will feature more than two dozen veteran service organizations, tabling military units, music by the Schoolboys Band, VIP guests, entertainment and food trucks.
