This year, The Ministering Circle will distribute a total of $140,900 among nonprofit organizations serving Wilmington and surrounding communities. The organization has supported programs focused on improving health and well-being for more than 130 years through charitable giving and community partnerships.
According to Children’s Cancer Partners, the grant funding will help continue programs and services supporting children battling cancer and their families throughout every stage of the pediatric cancer journey. Services include psychosocial support, family assistance, therapeutic activities, and opportunities for community connection.
“This generous investment from The Ministering Circle helps ensure that children facing cancer receive the emotional, social, and financial support they need during some of life’s most difficult moments,” said Laura Allen. “We are incredibly thankful for organizations like The Ministering Circle that believe in our mission and help us continue expanding our impact throughout the Carolinas.”
Children’s Cancer Partners was one of 18 nonprofit organizations selected for 2026 grant funding. Other recipients include the Autism Society of North Carolina, Cape Fear Literacy Council, Cameron Art Museum, NourishNC, and Family Promise of Lower Cape Fear, among others.
The funding is intended to strengthen local programs focused on health, wellness, education, family support, and community services throughout the Cape Fear region.
