MISSION BBQ offering free sandwiches to veterans and active duty military during Armed Forces Week

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) –MISSION BBQ is honoring active duty military members and veterans during Armed Forces Week with a series of free meal promotions recognizing each branch of the U.S. military.
Throughout the week of May 11–16, the restaurant chain will offer free sandwiches on designated days for service members representing different military branches. The week begins Monday, May 11, with recognition for the Army, followed by the Marine Corps on Tuesday, May 12, the Navy on Wednesday, May 13, the Air Force and Space Force on Thursday, May 14, and the Coast Guard on Friday, May 15.
The weeklong tribute will conclude Saturday, May 16, with “Lunch with the Heroes,” a special Armed Forces Day event taking place from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. During the event, all veterans and active duty military personnel will receive a free sandwich, and the National Anthem will be performed live at noon.
Representatives from MISSION BBQ said the event is intended to thank service members for their dedication and sacrifice.
“We are truly indebted to the service and sacrifice all our service members have made to our country and wish to pay tribute to each branch of the military throughout this momentous week,” the company said in a statement.
