LELAND, NC (WWAY)– “Walk Today, Change Tomorrow.” That is the motto of the North Brunswick Kiwanis Club as members celebrated the funds they have raised for graduating seniors.

On Saturday, the North Brunswick Kiwanis Club hosted the “Walk for Scholarships” at Founders Park in Leland to raise awareness and support for local Brunswick County students.

Cameron Hankins, immediate past president of the North Brunswick Kiwanis Club, said the march is a way to celebrate the $8,000 raised, which will provide eight students with $1,000 scholarships each.

“I couldn’t be happier to not only invest in where they are now but also investing in where they are going in the future,” said Hankins. “It feels good, it feels amazing. It feels like life, it feels like birth. It feels like what Brunswick County is all about — helping each other out.”

Hankins says over the past 3 years, the club has helped raise almost 30 thousand dollars for Brunswick County Students.
