Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center hosts first ever “Community Baby Shower”
WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY)– Even though Mother’s Day has already passed, Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center celebrated soon-to-be mothers and current mothers with a “Community Baby Shower”.
On Saturday, Novant Health New Hanover Regional Medical Center hosted its first-ever “Community Baby Shower” at Novant Midtown Medical Plaza.
Hundreds of mothers came out to connect with clinical experts, explore community resources, pick up baby supplies, and get other necessary items like strollers.
Organizers say the event was designed to support mothers beyond their hospital visits by providing resources and encouragement throughout their parenting journey.
Tonya Armour, Chief Philanthropy Officer for the Novant Health Foundation, says the event reflects the organization’s commitment to caring for the community, even outside the buildings.
“This is what Novant Health does — we show up for our community. We wrap our arms around them,” said Armour. “We provide them with items that they need so they can make sure their health is sustained, not just in the hospital, but outside the walls of the hospital.”
