What’s happening across the Cape Fear this weekend

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Ahead of this long Memorial Day weekend there are plenty of fun ways you can get out and support our veterans or even just relax with a musical comedy.
On Friday, Hello Dolly by the Thalian Association Theater Company will open on the main stage at Thalian Hall. The musical features witty humor, romance, and energetic dancing…a perfect way to kick off your weekend. Showtimes are Friday and Saturday starting at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday starting at 2 p.m., with tickets available online.
Also happening Saturday, if you’re looking to try your luck at the slots, the second annual Bets On Vets casino night fundraiser is happening at the Eagle’s Dare. Hosted by the Southeastern North Carolina Veterans Parade, the event helps support veterans ahead of Memorial Day. The event starts at 7 p.m. and goes until 11 p.m., and tickets can be purchased online.
Finally, on Monday, if you have the day off and are looking to get out of the house and pay your respects, you can head down to the Memorial Day parade in Southport. All are welcome to join in with golf carts and bicycles, and groups are encouraged to attend. The parade starts at 10 a.m., and a ceremony will follow at 11.
Whether you’re headed to the theater for a night of entertainment, trying your luck at the tables, or gathering to pay tribute, there’s plenty to do across the Cape Fear this Memorial Day weekend. Don’t forget to tag us on socials and have fun.
