WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A Wilmington brewery and local electrical company are teaming up to bring a taste of Louisiana to the Cape Fear region while raising money for survivors of domestic violence.

WattStar Electric and Waterline Brewing Co. will host the “1,000 lb. Crawfish Boil” fundraiser on Saturday, May 30, from noon to 5 p.m. at Waterline Brewing Co.

The family-friendly event will feature 1,000 pounds of authentic Louisiana crawfish, live music, local vendors, craft beer and food from T’Geaux Boys Food Truck. Proceeds from the event will benefit Domestic Violence Shelter and Services, Inc., which supports survivors of domestic violence throughout New Hanover County.

Tickets are $25 and include three pounds of crawfish along with a $10 voucher for T’Geaux Boys Food Truck. Guests looking for more can opt for a $50 all-you-can-eat crawfish experience available on-site.

Waterline Brewing Co. will also donate $1 from every pint sold during the event to Domestic Violence Shelter and Services.

Live music will be provided by The Rhythm Bones from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

“When we started WattStar Electric, we weren’t just building a business — we were putting down roots in a community that welcomed us with open arms,” said Tyler Chapman of WattStar Electric. “Back home in Louisiana, a crawfish boil isn’t just a meal — it’s how you bring people together. It’s how you celebrate, how you connect, and how you show people you care.”

Chapman said the event is intended not only to share Louisiana culture but also to support an important local cause.

Tickets are available through the “1,000 lb. Crawfish Boil” event page on Waterline Brewing Co.’s Facebook page. For more information about Domestic Violence Shelter and Services and its programs, visit the organization’s website.
