New 7-Eleven debuts in growing Leland community

LELAND, N.C. (WWAY) — A new 7-Eleven is now open in Leland, bringing a familiar convenience store brand to one of the area’s fastest-growing communities.
The store celebrated its grand opening Friday on Grandiflora Drive at the entrance to Magnolia Greens.
Dozens of customers stopped by for free food and drinks, live music from a DJ and giveaways Friday. Vendor partners, including Coca-Cola, Pepsi and Red Bull, also participated in the event, handing out free samples and promotional items.
The independently owned store employs 12 people and will operate 24 hours a day.
Co-owner Adnan Tariq said the decision to bring a 7-Eleven to the area was driven by feedback from local residents and the community’s continued growth.
“This store has a very deep value to us. It’s very close to my heart. We asked the customers down here what bring them, what more can we offer them. They say bring us a brand we can relate with and 7-11 was the best choice,” said Tariq.
The store is now open around the clock. Customers can also look ahead to 7-Eleven’s annual Free Slurpee Day on July 11.
