SOUTHPORT, NC (WWAY) — Fans of professional wrestling will once again have a chance to experience the action during the North Carolina 4th of July Festival as the United Pro Wrestling Association (UPWA) returns to Southport on Saturday, July 4.

The event, known as the Brunswick County Brawl, is scheduled from 3 to 5 p.m. on Nash Street and is expected to feature a lineup of championship-caliber matches and family-friendly entertainment.

Festival organizers say the event has become a popular addition to the annual Independence Day celebration, offering spectators an opportunity to enjoy live professional wrestling in the heart of downtown Southport.

The United Pro Wrestling Association, one of the fastest-growing wrestling promotions in the Southeast, will bring several of its top competitors to the festival. Scheduled appearances include Heavyweight Champion Sasha Jenkins, Carolinas Champion Johnny Smooth, Devaun Haley, The Royal Wave, the Carolina Collective, Joseph Everhart and other UPWA stars.

Organizers describe the two-hour event as suitable for all ages, featuring a mix of athletic competition, entertainment and crowd interaction.

Spectators are encouraged to bring chairs or blankets for seating during the outdoor event.
