LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland will officially open its newest community gathering space with a grand opening celebration at Founders Park on July 31.

The event will take place from 5 to 8 p.m. at Founders Park, and will feature live music, family-friendly activities, food trucks and beverages.

The celebration will also serve as a stop on the Sounds of Summer concert series. The evening’s entertainment will include a performance by The Embers featuring Craig Woolard from 6 to 8 p.m. in the park’s newly completed amphitheater.

“Founders Park was designed to be a place where our community can come together to make memories, celebrate special moments, and enjoy everything that makes Leland unique,” Mayor Brenda Bozeman said. “We are excited to officially open this space, and we invite residents and visitors to come to this event and experience all it has to offer.”

Activities will begin at 5 p.m. and include games behind the amphitheater, a trail featuring local community organizations, access to the park’s new splash pad and an updated playground.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for 5:30 p.m. in front of the amphitheater, where town leaders will officially mark the opening of Founders Park and celebrate the summer season.

Guests are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or picnic blankets for the concert.

The event will also feature Founders Park’s first beer garden, with beverages available for purchase from Leland Brewing and Brunswick Beer and Cider for guests ages 21 and older. Outside alcohol will not be permitted.

Town officials say the event will give residents and visitors an opportunity to explore the new amenities while celebrating a space designed to bring the community together. For more details, visit the Town of Leland’s website.
