‘Sit for a Cause’ to benefit sea turtles in Ocean Isle Beach
OCEAN ISLE BEACH, NC (WWAY) — The Ocean Isle Beach Sea Turtle Protection Organization is getting ready for its second annual “Sit for a Cause.”
The organization said participants will gather at the tideline with their favorite beach chair to see who can sit the longest.
The last three people sitting will win.
First place will win a 2026 Lucy’s treasure globe. Second place will win a Lucy’s treasure ornament. Third place will win a sea turtle hatchling plush.
Organizers said participation in the event is free, but donations are encouraged.
Participants who donate at least $20 will receive a 4ocean brand bracelet.
The event is happening on Tuesday, July 7 at 12:30 p.m. on the beach strand west of the pier.
