Fourth of July Crowds pack Wrightsville Beach, leading to parking issues
WRIGHTSVILLE BEACH, NC (WWAY)– The Fourth of July holiday brought large crowds to Wrightsville Beach on Saturday, with hundreds of people spending the day along the shoreline.
Visitors took advantage of sunny weather to relax on the sand, fish along the shore, and head out into the water for recreational activities. As the beach filled up, parking areas across the island quickly reached capacity.
At the south end of Wrightsville Beach, several illegally parked vehicles were towed as town officials enforced parking regulations during the busy holiday weekend.
Town leaders are reminding visitors to plan ahead when traveling to the beach and to use available resources to avoid parking issues. Officials say real-time parking availability can be checked through the town’s website before arriving.
