Wilmington Fire Department accepting applications for next firefighter recruit academy

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Fire Department is accepting applications for its next Firefighter Recruit Academy, with the next class scheduled to begin in November.

The department is seeking applicants interested in pursuing a career in fire service and public safety. Officials say the academy provides recruits with the training and skills needed to become Wilmington firefighters while preparing them to serve the community.

Applications are open through July 22.
