Troopers seek public’s help after fatal hit-and-run in Bladen County

BLADEN COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The North Carolina State Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help as investigators work to identify both a man killed in a hit-and-run crash and the driver who left the scene.
According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened around 8:28 a.m. Thursday, July 2, on N.C. 211 in Bladen County between Elwell Ferry Rd and the Columbus County line.
The preliminary investigation indicates the unidentified man was walking in the eastbound lane of the highway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle.
Troopers said the driver did not stop after the crash and continued driving away.
The man died at the scene. Investigators have not yet identified him.
