CFCC partners with Tate Farm to host free community event in Pender County

WILLARD, N.C. (WWAY) — Cape Fear Community College and Tate Farm by the Pond will host Fun Day at the Farm on Saturday, July 11, offering families a free opportunity to learn about educational programs and career training while enjoying farm activities.
The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon at Tate Farm by the Pond, located at 5514 N.C. 11 in Willard, and is free and open to the public.
The family-focused event will feature tractor tours, farm animals and opportunities to meet Cape Fear Community College faculty and staff. Attendees can also learn about a variety of workforce training and educational programs offered by the college.
Programs that will be highlighted include:
- Truck driver training
- Welding
- Aviation
- Veterinary technology
- Career readiness
- Nurse aide training
- And other academic and workforce programs
Free food will be available while supplies last from The Donut Bus, The Foxes Boxes and Trolly Stop Hotdogs. YUMYUM Haven will also be on site selling shaved ice and lemonade.
Organizers say the event is designed to connect residents with educational opportunities while providing a family-friendly morning on the farm.
