Wrestling fundraiser planned at Williston Middle School to benefit booster club

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — A professional wrestling event will be held this weekend at Williston Middle School in Wilmington to raise money for the school’s booster club.
The United Professional Wrestling Association’s “Summer Showdown 2026” is scheduled for Saturday, with matches beginning at 7 p.m. Organizers say the event marks the promotion’s 21st anniversary show.
The main event will feature UPWA Carolinas Champion Johnny Smooth defending his title against former champion Victor Andrews in a 30-minute Iron Man Match. According to event organizers, the match was scheduled after Andrews previously earned count-out and disqualification victories over Smooth but did not win the championship.
The event will also include a fatal four-way tag team championship match, an open challenge for the UPWA Heavyweight Championship and several additional matches featuring members of the promotion’s roster.
Tickets are $20 for adults and $10 for children and will be available online or at the door. Organizers say proceeds from the event will benefit the Williston Middle School booster club.
The event will take place at Williston Middle School in Wilmington.
