WILMINGTON, N.C. (WWAY) — Halyburton Park is bringing back one of its most popular educational programs, giving families a chance to learn how honey makes its way from the hive to the jar.

The program will be held Saturday, July 18, at Halyburton Park, located at 4099 S. 17th St. in Wilmington.

The New Hanover County Beekeepers Association will lead the event, teaching participants about the honey-making process and the important role honeybees play in the environment.

Each attending household will receive one jar of honey, and mason jars and honey will be provided during the program.

Three one-hour sessions are available beginning at 10 a.m., 11 a.m. and noon.

The event is free to attend, but advance registration is required due to limited space.
