Wilmington museum prepares to unveil Civil War-era artifacts at Grace Street campus

Wilmington, NC (WWAY) — Visitors to Wilmington’s Grace Street museum campus will soon be able to see several Civil War-era artifacts that have recently been moved into place ahead of the facility’s opening.
Museum officials announced that the North Carolina Underwater Archaeology Branch assisted with transporting several large artifacts from storage, including a cannonball weighing nearly 400 pounds that dates to 1865.
According to the museum, the artifacts had been kept in storage before being relocated for public display at the Grace Street campus.
The museum said the exhibit is part of preparations for the facility’s opening, which is set for August 18th.
