Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue to host dog talent show fundraiser in Wilmington

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Cavik Insurance is partnering with Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue-NC to host a community fundraiser this fall aimed at supporting homeless and at-risk dogs in southeastern North Carolina.
The organizations announced the event will take place Sunday, Nov. 22, from 1 to 4 p.m. at Waterline Brewery in Wilmington.
The fundraiser will feature a dog talent show with prizes, pet-focused vendors, holiday shopping and family-friendly activities. Organizers said proceeds and donations will benefit Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue-NC, helping provide medical care, food, supplies and foster homes for animals awaiting adoption.
According to Cavik Insurance, the event is intended to raise awareness about the challenges facing animal shelters in North Carolina while supporting local rescue efforts.
“As the rescue mom of two dogs and foster mom to 23 dogs, this mission is incredibly personal to me, and it is something our entire team is passionate about,” Alexandra Lysik of Cavik Insurance said in a news release.
Freedom Bridge Animal Rescue-NC is a volunteer-run nonprofit that works to rescue neglected, abandoned, abused and medically vulnerable animals throughout New Hanover County and surrounding communities. The organization provides foster care, medical treatment, rehabilitation and adoption services.
Event organizers are seeking dog talent show participants, sponsors and local vendors ahead of the November event.
