New Hanover County death investigation: Two identified after apparent shooting
NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office has identified the two people found dead during an investigation at a residence on Rowsgate Lane early Thursday.
According to the sheriff’s office, the deceased have been identified as Stephen Larnell Willetts and Tracey Parker Willetts. Authorities said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
Deputies responded to a home in the 5800 block of Rowsgate Lane after New Hanover County EMS requested law enforcement assistance. Upon arriving at the residence, deputies found an adult man and an adult woman dead inside the home.
Investigators said both individuals appeared to have suffered gunshot wounds.
Based on the information available, investigators believe the incident was isolated and that there is no known threat to the community.
The death investigation remains active and ongoing. The sheriff’s office has not released additional details regarding the circumstances surrounding the deaths.
