Burgaw announces lineup of fall concerts, movies and Autumn Fest

BURGAW, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Burgaw Parks, Recreation and Tourism Department has announced several fall events planned for downtown Burgaw, including a concert series, Movies in the Park and the annual Autumn Fest.

The Fall Concert Series will begin Sept. 17 at Dees Park with a performance by The Dust Parade from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Travis Watts and Mountain Blessings will perform Oct. 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m.

The concerts will also include food trucks and a beer garden featuring Burgaw Brewing.

“Come out and enjoy the fall weather while listening to live music with friends and family,” Recreation Supervisor Codie McGrew said. “We are excited to have our community out for a great time!”

Movies in the Park will also return to Dees Park, beginning Sept. 25 with “Captain America: The First Avenger” in recognition of the nation’s 250th anniversary.

Additional movies include “Hoppers” on Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m., “Hocus Pocus 2” on Oct. 23 at 6:30 p.m. and “Toy Story 5” on Nov. 20 at 6 p.m.

Burgaw’s annual Autumn Fest is scheduled for Oct. 17 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Pender County Courthouse Square.

The family-friendly festival will feature live music, entertainment, pumpkin decorating, craft vendors, children’s activities, food trucks and a kids’ costume contest.

The event will also include a 5K and one-mile fun run. Shannon Baker & sometime soon and bluegrass sibling band Dear Maribella & the Pigkickers are scheduled to perform.
