Southbound U.S. Highway 17 closed at Maco Road following multi-vehicle crash

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) –Southbound U.S. Highway 17 is closed at Maco Road following a multi-vehicle crash involving a tractor-trailer, a passenger car, and an SUV, according to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

Emergency crews are on the scene assisting those involved in the crash and working to clear the roadway. Officials have not released information on the number of people involved or whether anyone was injured.

Motorists are encouraged to avoid the area, expect significant traffic delays, and use an alternate route until the roadway reopens.

The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office said additional information will be released as it becomes available.
