Overnight closure planned for Covil Avenue as crews repair water service

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A portion of Covil Avenue will be closed overnight Tuesday as crews complete water service repairs, according to city officials.

The closure will begin at 9 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 4, affecting the 0 through 300 blocks of Covil Avenue between Market Street and Darlington Avenue.

Through-traffic will be blocked in both directions during the work, with access limited to local traffic only.

Drivers are advised to use a detour route through Darlington Avenue while the closure is in place.

The closure is expected to last approximately eight hours.
