Charlotte set to host Gospel music’s biggest night at Spectrum Center

CHARLOTTE, NC (WWAY) — Gospel music’s biggest night is returning to the Charlotte. The 41st Annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards will be taped live from the Spectrum Center on Saturday, Aug. 15, celebrating the year’s top artists across 31 award categories, along with six Gospel Radio categories.

Award-winning gospel artist Kirk Franklin will return as host of this year’s ceremony, themed “Feels Like Home.” The show will feature live performances, tributes and special honors recognizing gospel music legends and emerging artists.

Leading up to the awards, Charlotte will host the Stellar Plus Experience from Aug. 12 through Aug. 15. The fan event will include master classes, unplugged performances, a songwriter’s symposium, comedy shows, fitness activities and a vendor marketplace.

The celebration also includes the Stellar Awards Pre-Show and Gospel Radio Awards on Friday, Aug. 14, at the Carolina Theatre, where non-televised awards will be presented during an evening of live performances.
