Wilmington Convention Center to host first-ever brick convention featuring LEGO displays and activities

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Wilmington will host its first-ever Brick Convention next month, bringing a weekend of LEGO-themed displays, activities and vendors to the Wilmington Convention Center.

The Wilmington Brick Convention is scheduled for Sept. 12-13 and will feature professional LEGO artists from across the country showcasing large-scale creations, along with meet-and-greets with LEGO personalities.

Attendees can also explore a Star Wars-themed display area, build with thousands of bricks in interactive brick pits, browse LEGO merchandise from multiple vendors, and view custom creations built by local fan builders.

A portion of ticket proceeds will benefit the Build Smiles Foundation, a nonprofit organization that provides new LEGO sets to underprivileged children during the holidays.

Tickets are $14.99 and are available for either Saturday or Sunday. Organizers say some ticket options are already selling out and encourage attendees to purchase tickets in advance.
