Columbus County, NC (WWAY) — A new grant-funded transportation service is offering free out-of-county trips to several neighboring counties for a limited time.

The service, funded through a ConCPT Grant, eliminates the previous $25 round-trip cost for eligible out-of-county transportation.

The program is available to the general public for qualifying trips to destinations in Brunswick, New Hanover, Robeson and Cumberland counties.

Officials said the free service applies only to out-of-county trips. Other transportation programs and services will continue operating as usual.

The program is also partnering with Bladen County to provide transportation for passengers there. Seating is available on a first-come, first-served basis.

Those interested in learning more about eligibility or scheduling a trip can call 910-642-7201.
