Lynes family gives $20,000 to Brunswick Community College scholarship fund
BOLIVIA, NC (WWAY) — The Foundation of Brunswick Community College has received a $20,000 gift from longtime supporters Dan and Linda Lynes.
The donation will strengthen the Dan & Linda Lynes Brunswick Community College Endowed Scholarship Trust, which provides financial assistance to students pursuing educational and workforce opportunities at the college.
A portion of the gift was made in honor of Sarah Williams, the mother of Brunswick County resident Teri Daly. Williams worked in nursing for more than 40 years, including a large portion of that in Brunswick County.
The Lynes family has previously supported scholarships that have helped Brunswick Community College students pursue degrees and workforce training.
“We are deeply grateful to Dan and Linda for their continued generosity and unwavering belief in our students,” said Gabriella DiSisto, executive director of The Foundation of Brunswick Community College.
The Foundation of Brunswick Community College works with donors to provide scholarships, support academic programs and assist student success through charitable giving.
