Downtown Wilmington’s The Fortunate Glass named among USA TODAY’s Best Bars in America

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — A longtime downtown Wilmington favorite has earned national recognition.

The Fortunate Glass, located at 29 S. Front St., was recently named one of USA TODAY’s Best Bars in America for 2026.

The neighborhood wine bar has been a fixture in Wilmington’s historic downtown since 2010, offering guests an extensive selection of wines, craft beers and small plates in an intimate setting.

The Fortunate Glass features more than 70 wines by the glass, 400 wines by the bottle, and 30 craft beers. Its menu also includes cheese and antipasto boards, paninis, desserts and other shareable bites.

In addition to its food and drink offerings, the bar hosts live music, wine tastings and special events throughout the year. Guests can also enjoy the dog-friendly patio along South Front Street.

The national recognition highlights the Wilmington establishment as one of the country’s standout destinations for wine lovers and those looking for a relaxed neighborhood atmosphere.
