Bladen Community College announces free child care academy training

CLARKTON, NC (WWAY) — Bladen Community College is offering a free child care academy designed to prepare participants for careers in child care in just two weeks.

The training will be held at Bladen Community College’s Booker T. Washington location at 66 Booker T. Washington Road in Clarkton.

The program includes First Aid and CPR, playground safety, a background check, a TB skin test and other training. Participants will spend four days in person, with the remainder of the coursework completed online.

The class begins August 31. The program is advertised as having a $200 value but is being offered free to participants.
