Feast Down East opens fall CSA program for local produce

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — Feast Down East has opened registration for its Fall 2026 Community Supported Agriculture box program, offering weekly boxes of seasonal products from small and mid-sized farms across Eastern North Carolina.

The program allows customers to purchase 6- or 10-week subscriptions, with options for full or half boxes. The fall season is expected to include items such as winter squash, leafy greens, apples, sweet potatoes and other seasonal products.

Full boxes will contain six to eight products, while half boxes will contain three to five products.

Subscription options are:

• Full box, 10 weeks: $400
• Half box, 10 weeks: $265
• Full box, 6 weeks: $275
• Half box, 6 weeks: $165

Customers can also add weekly egg or meat shares. An egg share includes a dozen eggs each week and costs $60 for 10 weeks or $38 for 6 weeks.

The meat share includes approximately one pound of pork or chicken each week, with cuts varying throughout the subscription. The cost is $115 for 10 weeks or $70 for 6 weeks.

The 10-week subscription runs from Sept. 17 through Nov. 19, while the 6-week subscription runs from Oct. 15 through Nov. 19. Boxes will be distributed each Thursday.

Registration deadlines are noon Sept. 11 for 10-week subscriptions and noon Oct. 9 for 6-week subscriptions.

• Feast Down East Food Hub, Burgaw’s Historic Train Depot, 115 N. Dickerson St. — 1 to 3 p.m.
• Salt Marsh Market, 100 Charlie Medlin Drive, Surf City — 3 to 9 p.m.
• Sea Gate Baptist Church, 6115 Oleander Drive, Wilmington — 4 to 6 p.m.
• Veggie Wagon, 3315 Masonboro Loop Road, Wilmington — 4 to 8 p.m.
• Brunswick Beer & Cider, 1313 S. Dickinson Drive, Leland — 4 to 9 p.m.
• Hi-Wire Brewing, 1020 Princess St., Wilmington — 4 to 10 p.m.

Feast Down East said some pickup locations have limited availability.

Subscribers can also order additional products to be delivered with their weekly boxes, including eggs, goat cheese, honey, meat and additional produce.

The CSA program returned to Feast Down East’s programming in 2024. The organization, founded in 2006 and based in Burgaw, works with small and mid-sized farmers and operates a food hub and other food-access programs in Eastern North Carolina.

The organization said 100 CSA spots are available for the fall program.
