Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office to launch Flock Safety camera transparency portal

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — The Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office says it will soon launch a transparency portal with information about its use of Flock Safety cameras.

The sheriff’s office said the portal will address questions about what the cameras capture, how the information is used, who can access it and what safeguards are in place.

According to the agency, the portal will include frequently asked questions about Flock Safety technology and how the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office uses the cameras under its agency policy.

The office said the resources will also outline its policies, oversight, safeguards and limitations on the use of the cameras.

The sheriff’s office did not provide a specific launch date but said the portal will be added to its website in the coming days.

The agency said it plans to share a link to the portal once it is available.
