Wilmington police identify pedestrian killed in fatal hit-and-run

WILMINGTON, NC (WWAY) — The Wilmington Police Department has identified the pedestrian who was killed in a hit-and-run early Sunday morning.
The victim was identified as 58-year-old Dexter Faulk.
Officers responded around 2:46 a.m. Sunday to the 1200 block of S. 17th Street after receiving a report of a hit-and-run involving a pedestrian.
According to police, preliminary information indicates a truck struck Faulk while he was in the roadway. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The WPD Traffic Unit is actively investigating the collision.
Police have not released additional information about the vehicle or a possible suspect.
