Southport man charged with stealing Flock camera from Brunswick County

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WWAY) — A Southport man is facing felony charges after authorities accused him of stealing a Flock camera belonging to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office.

According to Brunswick County court records, Jeremiah Baley III, 47, of Southport, was charged Sept. 1 with felony larceny and possession of stolen goods or property.

Court records allege Baley stole a Flock camera with a solar panel and pole belonging to the Brunswick County Sheriff’s Office. The property was valued at $1,650, according to the charging documents.

The possession charge alleges Baley knowingly possessed the equipment after it had been stolen and knew or had reasonable grounds to believe it was stolen.

Baley was arrested Sept. 1 and was given a $20,000 secured bond on the felony larceny charge and a $5,000 secured bond on the possession of stolen property charge, according to court records. Both bonds were posted.

A probable cause hearing is scheduled for Sept. 17 at 9:30 a.m. in Brunswick County District Court.
