Live music, movie nights added to Leland event lineup
LELAND, NC (WWAY) — The Town of Leland is adding four more dates to its Live in Leland series at Founders Park.
The newly announced schedule includes two live music performances and two movie nights at the park’s amphitheater, located at 113 Town Hall Drive.
The first new event is scheduled for Sept. 17 at 6 p.m., when Michael Schott will perform during Battle of the Bowls.
On Sept. 19, the town will show Dirty Dancing at 7:40 p.m. Dance lessons with Tracie Rabalais are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.
The British Invaders are scheduled to perform Oct. 1 at 6 p.m.
The final newly announced event is set for Oct. 17 at 7 p.m. with a showing of Muppets in Space. The Cape Fear Astronomical Society is expected to host a stargazing event afterward.
The Live in Leland series is free and has previously included concerts, food trucks, a beer garden and yard games.
The town says road closures, parking information and weather-related cancellations will be announced ahead of each event through its website and social media channels.
